Every quarter students are expected to complete a project that incorporates all major subject areas.
Within their academic studies, students should earn a quarter of a credit in all subject areas. That means they should log between 25 and 50 hours in each subject area.
Credit goal per quarter:
- .25 Reading
- .25 Writing
- .25 Math
- .25 Social Studies
- .25 Science
- .25 Health/Gym/Advisory
• Each student should meet with each content advisor at least 8 times during the quarter.
o The more a student meets with an advisor, the more assistance they can receive to improve their rubric scores.
• In addition, each student should log at least 15 hours at volunteer locations.
• Students also have the opportunity to earn additional credit in the main content areas, gym, and the arts through elective courses.
• Every student should read at least 1 novel per quarter
• At the end of the quarter, every student MUST present their project at Symposium. This presentation must be prepared, contain visual aids, and demonstrate higher levels of learning in the subject areas. Failure to present at symposium will result in no credit being earned for the entire quarter.
