Rigor:

College and Career Geared Education -P.L.I. prepares all of our students for successful futures in both higher education as well as careers.

Projects fully engage students in active learning. Evaluation exhibitions held quarterly help students to understand that learning is a process.

Advanced Placement classes are offered in science and English (07/08 school year)

Relevance:

Individualized curriculums are based on student interest. Students connect school learning to job shadows and internships; and connect academic skills and knowledge with real world situations.

Relationships:

Teacher to student ratio at P.L.I is 1 to 17. This makes it easier to have one on one interactions with students on a daily basis.

Professionalism:

Students learn to view learning as a life long process of which they are in control. They prepare themselves for life after high school by evaluating which kinds of learning work most effectively for them, and by problem-solving on a daily basis to complete challenging projects.

Individualized Curriculum Through:

  • Learning Plans
  • Job Shadows and Internships
  • Specific Goals
  • Projects
  • Exhibitions
